Hi, Joel, sorry for delay in replying. If there are small improvements in the park that look as if they could be achieved by volunteers (neighborhood & UC Berkeley students, for example), please get in touch with me ASAP about the possibility of including your group in our next grant application for Chancellor's Community Partnership funds. I also know about other ways to get volunteers. My email is f5creeks@aol.com, phone 510 848 9358.

Hi, I am chasing info on Hulbert Hinkel as he is my great grandfather and I have seen an article on him skydiving. I am also a skydiver and it was interesting to find out that its in my genes. Does anyone know if he has a skydive log book, or american parachute numbers etc.
Thanks Cassy

A new Partner Group and one that addresses youth swim skills is a wonderful addition to BPFP. There were several drowning deaths in NYC this summer so NY could use a group like this one!

As a responsible dog owner, I am dismayed at the number of dog owners who allow their off leash dogs to enter the burrowing owl habitat. Perhaps they do not see the signs designating the area "no Off leash". (signs could be bolder and lower) Maybe they do not read the informative signs about the endangered, helpless creatures trying to survive the winter. Perhaps the off leash dog area can be fenced in or citations can be issued to offenders...the humans that is. Sylvia Falcon, Point Isabel Dog Owners board member. (PIDO).

Jodi fyi, as I think you know the city got funding for paving this portion a couple of months ago, and the official announcement is now out -- see our web site or the Berkeley Voice (probably Planet too; I haven't checked.)

John Hinkel was my grandfather also. I was born in Oakland Calif. in 1949. John Hinkel was married to my grand mother Dorthey Hinkel. They divorced. So I am guessing we are related. I live in Hawaii and have for the past 28 years. I have a son who is 40 now and lived the other half of my life in the Oakland Hills. Montcalir. On Griffin Street off of Snake Road. Please share with me and let me know how we are related.
Thank you,
