Berkeley BPFP update: late September 2006

Greetings BPFP Members and Friends,

September has been good to Berkeley Partners for Parks, our member groups have enjoyed a flurry of grant awards:

Both Young Artists Workspace and The Ohlone Greenway Project won Berkeley Civic Arts Grants.

The University of California Chancellor’s Community Partnership has awarded grants to:

  • Berkeley Pathwanderers Association
  • Friends of Schoolhouse Creek Common
  • The Commuity Orchard Project
  • Aquatic Park/EGRET
  • Friends of 5Creeks
  • Halcyon Commons

The Alameda Countywide Clean Water Project has made an award for Strawberry Canyon Creek.

The Strong Foundation has made an award to Berkeley Pathwanderers Association.

Congratulations to all grant recipients!


HALCYON COMMONS REJUVENATION PROJECT
DESIGN CHARETTE OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY
SUNDAY OCTOBER 8, 2:30-5:00PM

Planning for features funded by the UC Chancellor’s Community Partnership Grant to Halcyon Neighborhood Association (fiscal sponsor: Berkeley Partners for Parks), including Animal Cutout Entry Arbor at north end of park, redesign/replanting of south end of Park and Halcyon Bird Sculpture.
*If you would like to participate in planning or facilitating the Design Charette, or wish to cover the Rejuvenation Project as a class project, please contact Nancy Carleton ncg.2 AT mindspring DOT com ahead of time. Students welcome!
