Willard Park work day

Please join the Willard Neighborhood Association’s Public Works Committee at 9:00 am on Saturday, Oct. 27 as we hold our fall work day at Willard Park. Over 40 student volunteers from the Berkeley Project will be joining us to do graffiti abatement, clubhouse renovations, landscape renovations, painting and clean up projects, and other projects to spruce up the park.

The schedule will be :
9:00 – 10:30 meet at the Clubhouse for Coffee, Doughnuts and work assignments
10:30 – 10:45 break
10:45 – 12:30 finish work assignments & clean up
12:30 – 1:30 Lunch

SF Mime Troupe @ Willard Park Aug 25 & 26

The Mime troupe has delivered political musical satire in Berkeley’s parks since 1961. This year’s, acclaimed production is “Making a Killing.” All performances are free. Dear Willardians and all swimmers and all those who love to party,

We are planning a splendid Pool Party at Willard Pool, one of the best kept secrets in Berkeley. This pool may look a little worn out on the outside, but come inside and you’re in Alice-in-Wonderland’s Garden.

We invite you to come as our guest, free of charge, and take a tour of the facilities and swim if you like.

Tasty goodies will be provided, as well amazing Swimmers’ Punch.

The WilLARDian Ladies Synchronized Swim Team will perform; Swim-master and musician, Yassir Chadry, will entertain us with his exotic Moroccan music as well as tunes from the 30’s.

If you have been hiding your own performing talent under a bushel, this is your time to shine! Please add your talent to the event.

All additions in talent and food are welcome. And, of course, bring your swim suit and try the waters.
